Weiter schrieb Bürgermeister Randy Roach an Fernweh-Park Initiator Klaus Beer:

The City of Lake Charles, in the state of Louisiana in the United States of America, is honored and privileged to post our city's sign in the Sign Post Fores of Hofer Fernweh-Park in Germany. The international message the park demonstrates - a message of freedom for all people and global oneness - is something the City of Lake Charles is proud to take part in, along with so many other individuals and communities.

It is our hope that our sign helps the park to grow, and contributes to the further recognition that America stands for freedom above all else. Again, it is our extreme pleasure to have our signs posted among so many others. Pease be with you, and may God bless our world.

Dear Mayor,

Now there is another urgent day in our calender. We feel proud and privileged to reconize May 15th as the "Hofer Fernweh Park Day" in your wonderful city.

We need such signals to feel one world. Therefore your proclamation of the "Sign Post Forest Germany - Hofer Fernweh-Park Day" works for peace and friendship. As the Hofer Fernweh-Park is symbolic for peace and reconciliation also your proclamation is it. Our countries and our city are a little bit nearer since May 15th 2002.

I want to declare the friendship of the citizens of Hof to the citizens of Lake Charles.

You help the park grow. The sign of Lake Charles is now one of the most urgent signs in the great collection. Your are right in recognizing the park as a great proclamation for peace and freedom. People looking at the sign of Lake Charles will see not only the advertising aspect - mor important is to know the intention you have declared I feel glad that the ideo works.

All the best wishes to the city of Lake Charles, to the citizens and to the mayor.

Cincerely
Dieter Döhla
